Banksia Bar-B-Q is Smoking Hot -- A big thanks to Dave and Stephanie Baxter for hosting our June general meeting at their beautiful home & protea ranch in Fallbrook! We had a great turn-out and members were treated to wonderful time as well as a raging hot workshop. CPA President Mel Resendiz demonstrated the fire-roasting techniques used to make banksia seed pods open and release their seeds.

Also, as part of the program Diana Roy gave a report on the national floral industry and shared the latest news from Washington D.C. Ben Gill spoke about protea on a global scale and Carole Booth gave an overview of the CPA at a local level and welcomed new members.

It was a beautiful day to behold. Members enjoyed delicious food and drink while gazing at the stunning view, visiting with friends, and (as always) sharing information and enthusiasm about growing protea.
